I would like to extend a very warm welcome to RVIS Primary. I have had the pleasure of working and leading in the Primary school since 2018, and my own children absolutely love being part of our fabulous RVIS community. We are proud of the cultural diversity within our school, which now comprises of over 70 nationalities, where the well being and happiness of every child is our priority, and where ‘Learning Comes First’. At RVIS, we support our children in becoming Responsible, Resilient, and Respectful learners, preparing them for each stage of their learning journey and beyond.
RVIS Primary welcomes children from Foundation Stage 1 to Year 6 (ages 3 to 11). We teach the English National Curriculum, with addition of Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education mandated subjects (Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Qatari History).
The Primary school is a vibrant place of learning where children and staff alike are encouraged to be innovative, creative and take ownership of their own learning journey. RVIS Primary offers a thematic curriculum alongside specialist lessons for Arabic, Islamic Studies, PE, Music, and French in our well-resourced school. Through our weekly PSHE programme, children are given opportunities to develop their social and emotional learning competencies that will allow them to develop healthy identities, maintain supportive relationships, and achieve personal and collective goals.
All Primary teachers hold UK, and internationally recognised, qualifications. Our class teachers are highly trained in programmes such as Talk 4 Writing, Mastery Maths and Read-Write-Inc. and these are utilised to enrich our curriculum provision alongside Key Stage events, trips and visits. In addition to this, RVIS offers its children an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities which are facilitated by our own teaching staff, as well as some external providers with whom we have built partnerships.
At RVIS Primary, we take pride in our relationships across the school and offer a supportive collaboration with parents. Children learn best when parents and teachers work together to encourage and support them to the best they can be. Alongside weekly learning letters that are sent home, parents are invited into school to be part of progress meetings and learning events, alongside the regular face-to-face contact we encourage with parents which is extremely valuable in ensuring every child is happy and successful.
